Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)
Under the law, if you don’t have insurance or are not using insurance for any non-emergency healthcare services (including psychotherapy services), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate”, which is an estimate of the expected charges for services. You can ask me, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you receive services—usually when you're scheduling your first appointment or asking about services. The estimate will include expected total cost of services including therapy sessions, late cancellation fees, etc. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
